Joel, I used to post here a long time ago but seem to have strayed away onto other forms of bodyweight training, though -i often call in and sometimes do the WOD. Recently I´ve noticed that my conditioning was suffering and decided to start the TMfs WODs again - and as we share the same surname it seemed to be appropriate. So here goes:
Push ups otm 10 x 10
Burpees 5 x 10
Took it easy on the burpees as I haven´t done any since early summer.

I did an old WOD (spartan run #4, using a jungle gym to do body rows, grassy area for pushups and crunches, and a trail around a duck pond for running) and it kick my butt! I've been running for a long time, but interspersing short runs with other exercises really challenged me.

I hope to start keeping in line with the WOD for a given day. I will be starting nursing school in a few months, so a short, intense workout will be a necessity for me.

Thanks for a great, common sense website!

Mark,

Glad to see you back. I've had the same experience you describe, noticing a drop-off in conditioning while using other training methods. I think the WODs are hard to beat for GPP.

Anon,

Mixing running and calisthenics adds a whole new dimension to the physical demands of a workout. Glad you were challenged.
