Wednesday 12 July 2006: PUSH-UPS ON THE MINUTE

PUSH-UPS ON THE MINUTE

The concept for today's workout is simple: perform one set of push-ups at the top of every minute for twenty minutes. Be careful. This workout won't be as easy as it sounds.

The breakdowns below are general guidelines. Do as many push-ups as you can while keeping your sets fairly consistent throughout the workout.

Advanced: 10-25 PU per minute x 20 minutes
(You can increase the difficulty of this workout by elevating your feet on a chair.)

Intermediate: 5-10 PU per minute x 20 minutes

Basic: 5-10 Knee or Countertop PU x 20 minutes

Post results to Comments.

Well, one word. Pain! :) But the good kind. Here is how it breaks down.
10PU per minute x 3 min.
6PU per minute x 2 min.
10kpu per minute x 14 min.
18kpu per minute x 1 min.

If I did my math right, that is 200 with an 10 per min. average. Although form went bad toward the end.

FYI, My wife and I just did 10per minute of counter pushups for the entire 20 minutes. She said, "I didn't even break a sweat, why are you sweating so much honey?" Not realizing the 200 I did this morning :) I know I know, BAD DAVID :) But tomorrow is a lower body day. I will tell you more about it on the phone.
