Thursday 3 Jan 2008: 10 X 10 SPRINTS

10 x 10 SPRINTS

Same workout for everyone today. Adjust the intensity of each sprint interval according to your individual ability. You should be out of breath after each sprint interval, but you should recover quickly enough to begin the next assigned sprint.

  • 5 minutes - Cardio Activity
(E.g. Run, Run-in-place, Jumping Jacks, Skip Rope, Bear or Crab Crawl)
Pick an exercise that raises your heartrate and can be sustained for five minutes. This is a general warm-up, not a sprint. If you are out of breath, you are pushing too hard.
  • Repeat 10x:
    10 seconds - Sprint
    50 seconds - Jog/Walk to recover
  • 5 minutes - Cardio Activity

I am jumping in and will do my best to complete the 2008 push-up challenge. I am not in shape, but I am using this challenge, to help kick-off my charge to get fit.

I assume that when the reps start getting pretty high (over 60 or 70) its okay to complete them as total for the day, versus one set?

So on the 75 day, it's okay to do 25 reps, three different times a day?

Thanks

The Push-up Challenge strictly measures total pushups for the day. You can choose to perform as many as you want in a single set. One person in 2007 performed each month in single sets (e.g. Jan-31, Feb-28, Mar-31, etc.). Check out the link to the article on the 2007 Push-up Challenge for more information. In particular, notice the comment I made here: http://fitness-solution.blogspot.com/2006/12/2007-push-up-challenge.html#c9120643093574049735.

Best wishes for your success! Let us know how we can help.
